As I’ve mentioned before, one of my loves is teaching other aspiring newborn photographers how to hone in their photography and newborn posing skills and to further their knowledge of newborn photography, in general. When I first started working with newborns, like many new photographers – I had *no clue* how to prepare the parents (and baby) for the session, how to soothe the infant and pose them correctly, what kind of lighting to use and how to use it, what kinds of blankets/fabrics and props to buy and where to buy them, and finally when the session was over – how to edit the images! I know many, many photographers feel the same way I felt.
I was so honored to have Valarie come from Ohio and spend the day with me! She actually did a Portfolio Building Workshop with me but I’m going to just touch on the newborn images for the purpose of this post. 🙂 Here are some of my favorite images from the morning we spend with sweet Insley.
I love this “behind the scenes” shot of Valarie in action! And yes – Grandma was right on the other side of Insley, taking special care to spot her just in case she decided to take a stretch. 🙂 The safety of the newborn babies is of utmost importance!
I used multiple vendors’ items during this session…
